Nord Software’s mobile application rewarded in Slush
Frank App – a mobile application developed by Nord Software and its partners – was nominated as the Best Infotainment or Utility Service. This was one of the seven series in the Best Mobile Service in Finland 2016 competition. The winners were announced on Wednesday, November 30th in Slush. Frank App’s competitors included Wolt, S-mobiili, Huuto.net and Tuudo.
Frank App is a digital student card, which gives students instant access to all student discounts in Finland via smartphone. The application is owned by Finland’s national student organizations SLL, SAKKI, SAMOK and SYL as well as KILROY.
Frank App has been developed and built by Nord Software and its partners. The product lead was Aku-Jaakko Saukkonen from Nord Software. Other team members were Sauli Böhm from Frank and three developers. The application was released on 22.8.2016, and it was a huge success right from the start: already on its release date it became the most downloaded software in App Store.
” It feels nice to win this reward. We are happy that students benefit from our application. But there’s still a lot more to come in the next few months. We are constantly developing the application.” says Aku-Jaakko Saukkonen.
The CEO of Frank Tiia Lehtola agrees, and wants to say special thanks to all the students who have been testing the beta version and who have already started using the mobile application. Frank App has been developed in close cooperation with its users and the development is an ongoing process. The humble goal is to create the world’s best mobile app for students.
Frank App is compatible with iOS and Android, and it can be downloaded for free in App Store, Google Play or at Frank’s website.
